Hillary Clinton's Presidential ambitions suffered a setback last night with the claim that she knew Bill Clinton was unfaithful long before his seduction of Monica Lewinsky. The only aspect of the sex scandal that is said to have surprised his wife was that his relationship with the White House intern lasted so long.

The only aspect of the sex scandal that is said to have surprised his wife was that his relationship with the White House intern lasted so long. And she was furious that he used the Oval Office for his liaisons, according to a new book by Sally Bedell Smith, one of America's most respected biographers. Ms Bedell Smith says in For Love Of Politics that Hillary's reaction on learning that Bill's sex sessions took place at their official residence was that her husband 'couldn't be that insane'. The author also claims Hillary tolerated Bill's womanising - and helped to cover it up - because she believed her slick husband was essential to her own political ambitions.
