The hot rhetoric spilled out on a cold Saturday just five days before the Iowa caucuses, with Clinton, Obama and John Edwards locked in a too-close-to-call contest for the first prize on the road to the Democratic nomination. Obama pushed the electability argument, saying that he, unlike Clinton, would attract the most independents and Republicans. "We are less likely to win an election that starts off with half the country not wanting to vote for that candidate," Obama said. Clinton, campaigning with Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland to showcase her support from a key swing state, said she would be the Democrats' best bet. "Whoever our Democratic nominee is will be subjected to the full force and effect of the Republican attack machine," she said. "I have withstood it and not only survived it but thrived over the last 16 years, so there is very little guesswork."
