Hillary Rodham Clinton faced more embarrassing disclosures yesterday about her staff's aggressive efforts to script her campaign appearances, as a second person came forward to claim Clinton's staff tried to use him to plant a question at a campaign event. Geoffrey Mitchell, 32, of Hamilton, Ill., says Chris Hayler, a Clinton aide, approached him at an April Iowa campaign event and asked if he would toss Clinton a question about what she would do to confront President Bush on funding for the Iraq war.

Geoffrey Mitchell, 32, of Hamilton, Ill., says Chris Hayler, a Clinton aide, approached him at an April Iowa campaign event and asked if he would toss Clinton a question about what she would do to confront President Bush on funding for the Iraq war. Mitchell said he refused. "I told Chris I had other issues I wanted to raise with Senator Clinton," Mitchell told Fox News. "I wanted to ask her why she voted for the Iraq war and why she didn't consider that a mistake." Mitchell says the Clinton aide moved on. "I know he tried to have others ask that question," Mitchell said. In the end, Clinton didn't take questions. The Clinton camp acknowledged that the two talked but denied planting a question, saying the two knew each other from previous campaign work. "They had a previous relationship and were talking before the event and the topic of the senator's position on Iraq came up, and Geoffrey said he had some questions," Clinton campaign spokesman Mo Elleithee said. "Chris suggested Geoffrey ask a question." Mitchell says he supports Barack Obama.
