Barack Obama is within striking distance of overtaking her, according to recent voter surveys.One month before Granite State voters go to the polls in the first-in-the-nation presidential primary, Mrs. Clinton was clinging to a six-point lead over her closest rival for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination — 35 percent to 29 percent — according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll of 592 likely voters.The survey, conducted between Nov. 29 and Dec. 2, also found that one in four voters said there was a good chance they could change their mind, and 41 percent said the New York senator does not say what she really thinks — twice as many who said that about her chief rivals.A Zogby poll taken during the same period showed Mrs. Clinton with an 11-point lead over Mr. Obama of Illinois, well below the 38 percent to 40 percent range she enjoyed about a month ago. Former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina was trailing in third place.The latest erosion in Mrs. Clinton's support in New Hampshire follows her decline in Iowa, where Mr. Obama has edged ahead of her by an average of 27.2 percent to 25.8 percent, according to the Real Clear Politics Web site, which tracks all of the state-by-state presidential polls.A Newsweek poll released Friday showed the Iowa race in a dead heat, but among voters most likely to attend the Iowa caucuses, Mr. Obama led Mrs. Clinton by six points, the magazine said.
