Hillary Clinton, the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, is bound and determined to erode as many of our economic freedoms as she possibly can. I'm not saying that we're looking at a dictatorship of the proletariat but the modern democratic party has been pretty contemptuous of economic freedom and capitalism. They view competition as predatory and dangerous to the poor, they also see private property as something beyond their control, and what the left doesn’t control it wants to restrain.

First and foremost is Hillary care, part two. Her first attempt failed when the GOP blocked her. Now it’s new and improved, well it’s not really new and improved it’s just repackaged. She can use all of the jargon she wants but what she is advocating is still universal socialist medicine. I guess the Democrats won’t be happy until they have inflicted such a system on America despite the overwhelming empirical evidence that such systems never work and are impossible to get rid of.
When the government takes over something it fails. Health care is no exception to that. If socialist run health care were such a dream come true why then is there no flood of Americans seeking treatment in Canadian hospitals, but American hospitals along the border have plenty of Canadian patients? Governments can’t run anything with efficiency. If they take over the health care of this country there will be no incentive to provide quality health care, nor will there be enough to go around. If you thought gas lines of the 1970's were bad wait until you see health care rationing by the government. It will be Uncle Sam who decides whether or not your health is bad enough for you to see a doctor and he will be the one who decides what doctor you get to see and when you get to see him. Sound like fun?
The government always underestimates or lies about costs. If they say it’s going to cost ' X', then anyone who pays attention should know that the real cost is going to be much higher. The cost of running a bureaucracy keeps climbing while the services keep getting worse and worse. Think back to the Soviet Union. The government ran virtually everything, yet nothing worked right. There were chronic shortages of everything from shoes to groceries and what they did have was of horrible quality. And that’s what the Democrats want to do with health care, something that is far too important to put in the hands of the government.
