He and the candidate's adviser Ann Lewis admonished Obama for stepping up his assaults on Clinton's ethics after he lost Ohio and Texas to her.Hours later, it was reported that a top Obama adviser called Clinton "a monster.""When Sen. Obama was confronted with questions over whether he was ready to be commander in chief and steward of the economy, he chose not to address those questions, but to attack Sen. Clinton," Wolfson said, adding, "I, for one, do not believe that imitating Ken Starr is the way to win a Democratic primary election for president."Asked to elaborate, Clinton's campaign pointed to a string of criticisms from Team Obama over issues including the release of her White House-era records and her tax returns, the Whitewater scandal during the 1990s, and a flap over trading on cattle futures in the 1970s.Clinton demurred when asked by reporters about the Starr reference, saying, "I'm not going to respond to that."Aides to Starr, now the dean of the law school at Pepperdine University in California, transferred calls to the school's public-relations office, where officials declined comment.
