Hillary Clinton, who voted for the Iraq war, today critized additional funding approved by the Senate last night for the occupation without requirements to end the war.None of the Democratic Senators running for president returned to Washington for the vote.Clinton was co-sponsor of an amendment offered by Senators Russ Feingold and Harry Reid that would have required the President to safely redeploy U.S. troops from Iraq within nine months after which funding for military operations in Iraq would be terminated.Instead, last night the Senate rejected Feingold’s amendment and approved a $555 billion omnibus spending bill that includes another $70 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Senators voted 71 to 24 against Feingold’s amendment.
