So Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has gone to the California State Senate to ask for more control over the LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District) so he can fire teachers and principals that are incompetent and/or inept. Of course the mayor is a loopy democrat but this call for rational thinking and putting the children's interest ahead of the teachers union. A closet Republican maybe?
The State Senate at first looked like they were going to fight him tooth and nail as they definately put the teachers interest ahead of the children all day long. Just recently in fact Schwarzenegger had proposed to make it so that teachers had to wait 5 years instead of the preposterous 2 years until they couldn't be fired. The liberals went absolutely nuts includng Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and they batted it down. But now a liberal asking for more control to fire teachers has utterly diffused the left wing nuts as this probably will be their candidate for the Governors seat in 2008.
So it's been approved and the Governor is on board, and now of course the LAUSD is going to take this task to court wasting our tax dollars for something that the Governor, State Senate, and Mayor have approved to benefit the childern. From the top down all of Californias elected representative bodies of government want this so you'd think the LAUSD would say.. " OK, you're the boss.." not in a million years. |
