"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." -- From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara A. Milulski, Tom Daschle, & John Kerry among others on October 9, 1998

That is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard. Under the Bush administration we have doubled the funding for the department of Education, which I am completely against. We are second in the world on per student spending. Switzerland is the first. The average national spending for Federal and State combined is $10,000.00 a student, we spend even more in D.C. $15,000.00 and we all know how great those schools are.
The reason our schools are bad is because the $10,000.00 never makes it to the classroom. It is slowly striped away as it makes its way down the bureaucratic latter. Liberals and schools want more money but no accountability. They just say "Trust US” Well they have been failing for the last 40 years.
If we gave each student a voucher for them to choose where they want to go, then schools would be forced to compete and do better. They could offer different options, different sports, arts ect. That is when you hear the liberals cry “What about our public schools”, Screw them if they don’t work then let them go. You don’t keep throwing money at something that continues to fail.
And for all you liberals that talk about public education as though it was the greatest thing since slice bread, why do you continue to go to all your elite universities which all seem to be private, Berkeley, Harvard, Yale, ect? |
